We counted 60+ women at our Annual Meeting on Wednesday evening where great fun was had trawling through the piles of gorgeous Elite Seconds before the essential business of the evening began.
We were treated to complimentary drinks which certainly helped everything go with a swing.
Even so Shirley’s delightful review of our year and Gail’s surprisingly entertaining Financial Review as treasurer were a pleasure to listen to. You might be interested to hear that the proposal to cap our membership at 125 members due to capacity of our venue was approved. A room wide discussion on the process of choosing a charity annually gave the committee plenty of food for thought and they will be in touch to continue the dialogue.
Together we gave Jane and Alicia a fitting send off, not least for the two and a half years they have served on the committee, but also for between them coming up with the idea and forming KeWI in the first place!
We will miss their commitment and talents but hope they will still help out if we ask them nicely!
We have two new committee members, Ann and Elizabeth. Welcome aboard!
We are grateful to Taya for her delicious Canapés and to Meadow Sweet Flowers for the gorgeous bouquets.
Our thanks also go to Caroline, our teller from Barnes WI who helped manage the election of president, Beth for another term, so professionally.
Thank you too for your support in bidding so competitively in the Elite Auction! We are thrilled to report that we raised £602 on the Elite sale and Auction as well as a further record breaking £161 on the raffle giving a brilliant total for the night of £763.
Thanks to you and with just one event to run before we sign off on our fundraising for the year and pass our donation to The Safe Houses, our total for this year stands at £4853.50.
