We were delighted to welcome the Mayor of Richmond, Ben Khosa, to our meeting last night. He will be stepping down as Mayor of Richmond in May, and for the year of his Mayorship, he has been supporting the local charity Refuge Richmond. The charity we have been supporting for the last 5 years is the Chiswick Safehouse run by Refuge, so it was wonderful to find out why the Mayor has been supporting this charity. One of the amazing things he has done is to carry out a sky dive, for which he raised £6,000! (He also damaged his foot in the process, but this does not seem to have worried him too much)  We Celebrated our 6th Birthday! We were delighted so many of our members were able to come along to last nights meeting. We had our guest of honour, the Mayor of Richmond, Ben Khosa, as well as our guest speaker Josephine Lalwan, influencer/blogger from "chic at any age" .
Denman in Oxfordshire is the home of WI learning and hundreds of different craft, cookery and lifestyle courses are run every year to appeal to everyone - members and non-members alike. The WI Cookery School is also based on the grounds of Denman and boasts a vast range of different cookery courses to attract the most experienced through to novice home cooks, and a new website for the college means that guests can enjoy a more standardised booking system.  |
